Cultural & Community Activities

Cultural Integration Coaching Program for Expats

The program is designed to be an ongoing support group for the expat community in Bucharest. Each meeting focuses on a specific theme, wherein participants will be guided to explore the topic, share personal experiences and discuss challenging situations, in order to provide enriching insights.

About the Teacher

Samantha, the founder of Native English School has a diverse expertise and experience in coaching, communication, teaching and cultural integration. Her own expat journey started in 2007 when she spent 12 months traveling the World independently and navigating day to day life in various different countries such as America, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, China, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam. Since 2012, she has been living in Romania with her family, during which time she also spent 9 months living in France during the height of COVID. This enriching journey has afforded Samantha a unique perspective that weaves together cultural awareness, effective communication and the nuances of human behaviour, all of which shine through in her teaching style, whether it be teaching children English in the classroom or providing a safe and friendly space for the adult community in its various support groups. Ages: Adults

Duration: 2 hours per week.

Language of instruction: English

Price: 50 lei plus VAT per hour

Class Size: max 15 students

Class times: Tuesday: 10 am – 12 pm.

Parent & Tots Playgroup

The aim of this group is to create a warm and supportive space for mums, dads and toddlers; a playgroup designed to foster early childhood development, parent-child bonding, and a sense of community.

Key Components:

  • Interactive Play Sessions: weekly 2 hour sessions with age-appropriate play, songs and creative activities.
  • Parent Support Circle: a safe space to discuss the highs and lows of parenting and to ask and give advice to fellow members.
  • Multicultural Exploration:  to meet other parents in the community, make new friends and share fun, laughter and experiences.
  • Parent Only Workshops: the opportunity to join monthly parent only support workshops where you can take time out from your toddlers to sit back, relax and chat freely over a cup of coffee!

Community Social

The aim of this group is to create a warm and supportive space for the local community; a social group designed to foster relationships and form friendships between residents living in the Aviatiei/Soseaua Nordului area. In short, we would like to build a sense of community within the sprawling city of Bucharest. Key Components:
  • Interactive Sessions: sit back, relax and chat freely over a cup of coffee in our weekly 2 hour sessions.
  • Support Circle: a safe space to discuss the highs and lows of living in Bucharest and to ask and give advice to fellow members.
  • Multicultural Exploration: to meet other people from the community, make new friends, share fun, laughter and experiences.
  • Community Initiatives: discuss local community issues with the aim of working together to find solutions and build a better community.
